I began teaching on seminary level in 1986 while in Europe. After issuing an exam to a handful of apostolic students I developed a great concern. It was then that I realized that many Pentecostals are simply not equipped to share the gospel with sinners nor explain basic truths of scripture. Rather than presenting the truth of the gospel, many of us are only arguing organizational opinions; and we have moved from Biblical interpretation to personal extrapolation.
One of the greatest ironies among the Pentecostal ranks is the emerging number of zealous pastors, ministers, and so-called "Bishops", who did not wait and sit under the wisdom of a learned teacher, but were truly called of God.
Once while in casual conversation with a few friends who happened to be pastors of thriving churches, I posed the question, "What must I do to be saved?" The answers that were given were at the least comical and at best sad. In short, these men of like faith who led congregations of the people of God were divided, defeated and disgruntled by the very question that Christ died to answer.
The majority of Pentecostals of all denominations wrongly assume that they are the only ones saved. Those of the Apostolic Faith wrongly confuse the Trinity with Tritheism, and proponents of the Trinity scoff at the claims of the so called "Jesus only crowd". While church groups are warring over dogma, doctrine and differences, ABC is a ministry of academic excellence with the goal of reconciliation. Our target group is not the unsaved, but rather the unlearned.
